Most of our tutors are certified teachers, that is, they hold at least one Bachelor's degree in their subject area, a Bachelor's degree in Education, and have completed Ontario College of Teachers requirements including Teacher's Qualification Test and Police Check. Yes, you can really trust them. Our university level tutors are degreed professionals who have expertise in their subject area. How long is a session and how often should it be? The length of a session dependents on the student’s age, need, abilities and how far she/he is behind. Most of our high school and university level clients take 1.5 hrs in-home tutoring per session, and elementary students one hour per session. Anything less than one hour is generally ineffective for in-home tutoring and is just a waste of money. The minimum length of a on-line homework help is, however, 20 minutes per session. Generally, we recommend two sessions per week. What is the hourly rate for one-on-one in-home tutoring? There are various tutoring packages based on the amount of hours you purchase for each month. Our hourly rates drop the more hours you pre-purchase. In general, our rates range from $30-$45 per hour. What is the hourly rate for one-on-one on-line help? There is no long contract for on-line services. You may use the option "pay as you go", which is $24 per hour for private one-on-one sessions. Our hourly rates drop the more hours you pre-purchase. What type of computer and software do I need for test/homework on-line help? What you need is a PC connected to the Internet with at least a 56K modem and 128Mb of Ram. You also need MS windows or MAC with MSN messenger (free software) installed. W hat I if don't want to have sessions in my home? That is not a problem. We will tutor anywhere you want us to tutor, as long as it is a safe place for our tutors. We do require that an adult be present for all tutoring sessions. How do I request a tutor? Simply go to the registration section of this site or just call us at (416) 709 7646 and some one will help you to complete the registration form.We will usually prepare to refer a tutor within 48 hours.
