- Applications of Statistics
- Applications
of Geometry, Measurement, and Trigonometry
This is a great resource from Curriculum Services Canada. In this
unit, students design and construct physical models to expand their
knowledge of geometry and measurement. Connections are made to the
fields of construction, fashion design, and machining. Students
take a three-dimensional object and make a two-dimensional representation
of it. They expand their knowledge of measurement by using both
the metric and imperial systems.
- Analysis
of Mathmatical Models
This is a great resource from Curriculum Services Canada. In this
unit, students examine and work with a variety of mathematical models
in various forms: tables, graphs, and formulas. Students investigate
linear, quadratic, and exponential models in a context that allows
them to develop an understanding of how models are used and created.
Connections are made to occupations, such as game warden and personal
trainer, and sectors, such as travel and tourism, construction,
municipal planning, and business.
